The Writing Mindset

I can’t honestly say I’m doing a lot of writing at the moment.  The most work I do is around journaling, where I aim to write 500 words a day, seven days a week.  I’ve not done 500 words on one day in a long time, and certainly havent journaled daily.

In terms of other work, that is worse.  I’ve flip-flopped over the software I use (now back on Scrivener) and have loads of ideas documents with a couple of lines in them detailing the basics of a piece but no actual content.

For some reason, I don’t seem to be able to get into the writing mindset at the moment.  I personally don’t believe in writers block, in the sense you can always write something else and it’s generally a matter of mood as to what you write. It’s just at the moment I’m not in the mood at all.

How to get into the right mindset, any ideas?  Think I’ll have to re-read a couple of writing advice books to see if that will kickstart some ideas.  I’ve got some premium writing time coming up soon, so want to make sure I’m back writing for when that comes up.

Considering I want to make writing a full time profession eventually, it’s now looking good.
